Deputies responded to Noble Court in South Stafford just before noon on Wednesday, Nov. 8, for a single-vehicle crash, the sheriff's office said.
A witness had seen the vehicle enter Noble Court at a high rate of speed, lose control, and hit both a fire hydrant and street sign. The driver fled right after the crash.
Police say the damaged vehicle had been stolen out of Prince William County the day before. A perimeter was established in hopes of locating the driver; however, due to the major head start the driver had, deputies were unable to find him.
The registered owner of the vehicle was notified and will be receiving their vehicle shortly.
The suspect was described as a younger white male wearing a paint splashed jacket, a black face mask, and blue jeans. Anyone with information should call the Sheriff’s Office at 540-658-4450.
